LOCATION

The villa is located  just outside Fucecchio, a town situated in the middle of Tuscany, in a central position from Florence (45Km), Pisa (42Km), Lucca (35Km) and Pistoia (30Km).
One can easy reach in ten minutes the villa with the Florence-Sea motorway (Altopascio) and with the toll-free motorway Florence-Pisa-Leghorn.

The area, immersed in the woods of the Cerbaie hills, is very near the Padule of Fucecchio, where one can easily go in a few minutes by car: that’s the ideal place for excursions by foot, by bicycle or by horse.
The Padule of Fucecchio is a very interesting ecological place, as it is the largest internal swamp in Italy, where it’s possible to visit and see the local fauna with the assistance of the “Center of Research, Documentation and Promotion of the Padule of Fucecchio”(Castelmartini, Larciano).
Other excursions are possible in the little valley of Cerbaie, where varied and suggestive vegetation has grown up thanks to the particular microclimate.

The Malvolti family, owner of the villa, is available to suggest itineraries in the historical centers and in the countryside of the Nievole Valley, Arno Valley and Elsa Valley, very rich in medieval and Renaissance monuments: Fucecchio has a lovely historical center and an interesting museum, Museo Civico.
Vinci is the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci, while Collodi is popular for the Pinocchio children's tale. The medieval San Miniato was visited by many emperors, and Empoli, a larger center, boasts the Museo della Collegiata, rich in artworks from 1300 to 1600. Another interesting museum is the ceramics museum of Montelupo Fiorentino, where you can also shop for fine ceramics. If you need to relax after sightseeing, head off to the thermal baths at Monsummano or Montecatini.
S.Gimignano, the city of towers, is about 44 km, while Siena is about 100 km.
Volterra is famous for its alabaster as well as its medieval center and recommended Etruscan museum (about 66 km).
Versilia, with its beautiful beaches and the town of Viareggio, famous for Carnevale and for shopping, is about 55 km.

The Malvolti family is also available to suggest several good restaurants and wine-bars in the area.
